Heidi L. Hayes-Audet, B. A.,E-RYT 200, is a nationally certified yoga instructor registered with the Yoga Alliance. A graduate of YOGAspirit TM Studios (South Hamilton, MA) 200-hour Iyengar-based yoga teacher training program taught by yogini Kim Valeri, Heidi holds additional certifications and has completed many trainings in Ashtanga Yoga, Advanced Vinyasa Yoga, DanceYOGA (TM), and Shiva Rea's Yoga Trance Dance. Heidi also holds advanced-level certification in Color Me Yoga(TM) for Children, and completed a four-month apprenticeship program in 2011 with founder and creator, Marsha T. Danzig to become a Master Trainer for the "Color Me Yoga(TM) for Children" Foundations Instructor Training.Heidi has been practicing yoga for approximately 13 years, having first studied with Tammy Begin-Leblanc, R.Y.T., of The Yoga Center of Maine. Ms. Audet continues to study with her colleague and locally-known Ashtanga yoga instructor, Nerys Bayley, R.Y.T. of Chill Yoga in Lewiston, Maine, Ashtanga teacher Kimberly Dahlmann of Yoga East in Portsmouth, NH, and with nationally and internationally-renowned Yoga teachers Rod Stryker, Shiva Rea, David Swenson and Shelley Washington, Doug Swenson, Manjou Jois, Nancy Gilgoff, Nicki Doane and Eddie Modestini. In addition to her yoga qualifications, Heidi is a Reiki II practitioner, a certified English Teacher and is a candidate for a Masters of Science in Holistic Nutrition. She is currently enrolled in the Whole Health Education and Wellness Counseling Program at the National Institute of Whole Health in Wellesley, Massachusetts. It is through her passion, training and her own personal yoga practice that Heidi brings compassion, knowledge, safe instruction, and understanding to her yoga teaching. She offers classes and private lessons at Chill Yoga -a yoga studio Heidi co-owns and manages with Nerys Bayley at 178 Lisbon St., Lewiston, Maine. Chill Yoga calls the historic Ellard building's restored 2nd floor its new home. Heidi also teaches yoga at various Central and Southern Maine locales. When not teaching yoga, Heidi has enjoyed 21 years of teaching in the public education sector. She has taught in special education, alternative education, and adult education. She has 12 years experience as a track and field coach for Special Olympics, and has coached and assisted middle school field hockey for 13 years. Heidi enjoys hiking, skiing, kayaking, traveling, reading, putting pen to paper, and spending time with her family. She resides in Greene, Maine. |
